History
The mechanical industry has long traditions in Helgeland. Mo I Rana and Mosjøen have experience from onshore process industry, while Sandnessjøen have had focus offshore, mainly from boatbuilding and shipyard services. Since the beginning of the seventies has Sandnessjøen been the preferred location for supply functions in relation to the oil and gas industry in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea. Several large corporations are involved, e.g. Statoils Norne (1998) and BPs Skarv (2012).

Helgeland V&M AS
Several companies formed an alliance in 2008 in order to maintain a competitive advantage towards oil and gas companies operating in the Norwegian Sea. As a result, Helgeland V&M was established. Combined, the alliance has over 500 employees and makes over 300MNOK in yearly revenues. The company is located in Petro Næringshage, Sandnessjøen, (a business incubator for the petroleum industry) together with the majority of the alliance partners.

Strategy
Helgeland V&Ms target market is maintenance- and modification contracts in addition to modification services in the Norwegian Sea. Our delivery will also include subsea and oil rig maintenance services.
